Many researchers believe that the seeds of our ability to manage stress as adults are sown in childhood through the interaction of our genes with our experiences. Directed by Dr. Gunnar, the Human Developmental Psychobiology Lab is a research laboratory dedicated to studying how the combination of temperament and experience shapes a child’s ability to manage stress as she or he grows up. We are particularly interested in the physiological side of stress and the effects of early experiences, specifically international adoption and adverse early life care.
