Cagla Giray received her PhD from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) in 2019. She was a Senior Research Assistant and the Lab Manager of the Culture and Family Life lab at the University of Illinois. She obtained her M.S. in HDFS from University of Illinois in December 2016 and B.A. in Psychology from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2015. Cagla’s research agenda resides at the interface of global health, applied developmental and cross-cultural psychology. She is interested in the psychological impacts of globalization on children’s psychological and behavioral adjustment and co-parenting quality for the families facing adverse circumstances at family (divorce) and global (humanitarian crisis) levels. Cagla has substantial experience in collaborative research and practice across multiple world regions and her career goal is to design sustainable and innovative development programs and make data-driven policy recommendations within the area of international development.
