Primary Care Phenoscreening: Parent and Provider Interviews
The Primary Care Phenoscreening – Parent and Provider Interviews Study is led by Catherine Burrows, PhD, LP, in the Department of Pediatrics.
This research study is about assessing parent and provider (e.g., pediatrician) perceptions of early concerns for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ASD-related screening and referral practices. We will conduct exploratory qualitative interviews with parents of young children and providers to determine their views on benefits and drawbacks of current screening practices, facilitators of and barriers to change, and whether concerns and referral practices differ by child sex. We expect to gather information relating to parent and provider perceptions that will inform future efforts to change screening practices for ASD.
