CPSY 4994 (undergraduate directed research) opportunities

Each semester we seek undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs) to participate in our lab for directed research credit (CPSY 4994) or, occasionally, as volunteers. We’d love to consider you for our team!

How to apply

If you are interested in joining this research group, please fill out this brief RA application first and e-mail it to Dr. Karatekin (karat004@umn.edu).

Undergraduates should expect to enroll for a maximum of 1 credit (=3 hours/week) in the Spring of 2022. The requirements are mainly attending weekly research meetings (Thursdays from 11:30 to 12:30 on Zoom) and doing some reading.

We are currently conducting a study on the effects of redistricting plans on state budget items affecting child and family well-being. If RAs become involved in this project, their work might consist of tracking down state budget information. This research group would not be a good fit for you if you are interested in obtaining hands-on experience with children and families.
