CPSY 4994 (undergraduate directed research) opportunities

Each semester we seek undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs) to participate in our lab for directed research credit (CPSY 4994) or, occasionally, as volunteers. We’d love to consider you for our team!

How to apply

If you are interested in joining this research group, please fill out this brief RA application first and e-mail it to Dr. Karatekin (karat004@umn.edu).

The minimum requirements for Directed Research in this research group are attending weekly research meetings (Wednesdays 4-5 OR Thursdays 1:30-2:30 on Zoom in Spring 2024), doing some weekly reading, and an oral presentation.

The time for the weekly meetings for the Fall 2024 semester will be determined in April based on students’ availability. So if you would like to participate in our group in the fall, be sure to email soon!

Next year, we expect to continue conducting research on structural determinants of health and health inequities. This research would be a good fit for you if you are interested in learning more about how upstream societal factors affect children’s health and well-being. This research group would not be a good fit for you if you are interested in obtaining hands-on experience with children and families.
