Research on achievement gaps indicates that while many young people have rich relationships outside of school, they may not have the sorts of trusting, respectful relationships in school that can support and guide them effectively.
This video resource aims to help schools and other educational organizations address what we refer to as “school-based relationship gaps.” Interviews with seven Minnesota educational leaders in a variety of K-12 institutions who have found ways to narrow “school-based relationship gaps” are presented in a series of six videos, accessible below, which focus on different aspects of these gaps.
For collaborative professional learning, we recommend that you watch a video and then explore the discussion prompts in the corresponding user guide as well as the links to relevant resources.
