Project I-LEAD addresses the national, state, and local shortage of fully qualified personnel in both special education and school psychology with the competence to provide evidence-based services for students with LD by:
- training scholars in applying evidence-based, collaborative practices to support the appropriate identification, instruction, and interventions for students with severe LD;
- supporting scholars in cultivating a professional orientation that honors the individuality and potential of every learner;
- providing opportunities for ongoing advising and mentoring support; and
- establishing practicum placements in high-need schools in the Twin Cities and surrounding metropolitan areas where scholars can gain supervised experience providing services for students with severe LD who have high-intensity needs.
