From the South via I-35W
(for participants in South Minneapolis, Bloomington, Edina, or Richfield)
Drive north on I-35W to the “University Avenue/4th Street” exit (not the “U of M” exit). Turn right onto University Avenue and drive five blocks. Turn right at the stoplight at 14th Avenue SE. Go one block to the stop sign (Pillsbury Dr.) and turn left. The first driveway to your right will be for the Institute of Child Development. Turn into this driveway, go past the first two sets of parking spaces, and pull into the angled parking spaces, which face the wooden swing and the Institute of Child Development (the name is on the building above the door). A researcher from our lab will meet you with a parking permit, so please stay with your car to avoid being ticketed.
From the West
(for participants in St. Louis Park, Golden Valley, and the western suburbs)
Drive east on I-394 (toward Minneapolis) to east I-94; then go north on I-35W. Take I-35W north to the “University Avenue/4th Street” exit. Turn right onto University Avenue and drive five blocks. Turn right at the stoplight at 14th Avenue SE. Go one block to the stop sign (Pillsbury Dr.) and turn left. The first driveway to your right will be for the Institute of Child Development. Take I-94 west to Huron Blvd exit. Go through three stoplights to University Ave. Take a left on University Ave (fourth light). At the next light, take a right. This street becomes 4th Street. Go through five stoplights, and turn left on 14th Avenue SE. Go through the next light and travel one block. At the stop sign (Pillsbury Dr.) turn left. The first driveway to your right will be for the Institute of Child Development. To I-35W (North/South)
Exit our parking lot by driving along the side of the building until you reach East River Road. Turn right onto East River Road and continue until you reach the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive. Continue straight through the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive and go 1 block through the next stoplight (14th St SE/Pillsbury Dr and University Ave SE). At the intersection of 14th Ave SE and 4th St SE turn left onto 4th St. Continue along 4th St for approximately 5 blocks until you reach the I-35W North and South exits. The I-35W North exit will be toward your right and the I-35W South exit will be toward your left.
To I-94 (West/East)
Exit our parking lot by driving along the side of the building until you reach East River Road. Turn right onto East River Road and continue until you reach the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive. Continue straight through the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive and at the following stoplight turn right onto University Ave SE. Continue along University Ave for approximately 8 blocks until you reach the intersection of University Ave and Huron Blvd. Turn right onto Huron Blvd and continue along Huron for approximately 4 blocks until you reach the I-94 East and West exits.
To University Ave SE
Exit our parking lot by driving along the side of the building until you reach East River Road. Turn right onto East River Road and continue until you reach the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive. Continue straight through the stop sign at Pillsbury Drive and at the following stoplight, turn right onto University Ave SE.
