GradSEHD grants

GradSEHD is excited to offer conference presentation and research development grants for all CEHD graduate and professional students, as well as professional development grants for CEHD professional students. Funding for each grant can only be awarded after the event/purchases are made and receipts are submitted.

Don’t know if you are a graduate student or a professional student? Check out your MyU account activity. If you pay fees to the Professional Student Government (PSG), you are a professional student. If you pay fees to the Council of Graduate Students (COGS), you are a graduate student.

Deadlines:
March 22, 2019 is the deadline for all grant applications. Travel, events, and research must take place between Jan. 22nd and May. 15th, 2019.

Professional Development Grants

Eligibility:

  • Professional development grants are only available to current professional students in CEHD who pay the PSG Student Services Fee.
  • Students must apply for professional development events related to their academic program.
  • The professional development event must be supported or run by a recognized professional in the field or professional organization.
  • Students may apply for other sources of funding but must report any other funding applied for and the status of that application.
  • Only one professional development grant will be awarded to a student each academic year. Applications from students who have already been awarded a professional development grant in an academic year will not be reviewed.

Conference Presentation Grants

Eligibility:

  • Travel grants are only available to current graduate and professional students in CEHD who pay the COGS or PSG Student Services Fee.
  • Students may only receive one travel grant per academic year.
  • Must have been accepted to present research or other work directly related to your degree program or have leadership role at conference.
  • Students are encouraged to seek additional sources of funding for remaining costs. Travel grants are intended to offer partial support for individual graduate and professional students.
  • GradSEHD is not able to give advances for travel. Awards will be given in full after the travel expenses have occurred and the grantee submits appropriate documents/receipts as requested.
  • Awards will be given after the grantee submits appropriate receipts and documentation within 30 days of travel.

Research Development Grants

Eligibility:

  • Research Development grants are only available to current graduate and professional students in CEHD who pay the COGS or PSG Student Services Fee.
  • Students may only receive one research grant per academic year.
  • If grantee is using funds for data collection, IRB approval is needed. Please provide documentation of IRB approval.
  • Awards will be given after the grantee submits appropriate receipts and documentation.
