Graduate Students
Current graduate students interested in working in the lab should contact Dr. Weiler about possible assistantships, directed research or volunteer positions. Prospective students should visit the department program website for further information on the application process.
Students who are interested in the development and testing of relational interventions that target children’s and adolescent’s mental health and family functioning are encouraged to apply. See current projects for details.
Graduate responsibilities may include conducting research studies, working collaboratively with peers, mentoring undergraduate lab members, presenting at conferences, and writing grants and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Interested students wanting to work with Dr. Weiler and join the lab are encouraged to contact her (lmweiler@umn.edu) or her current students (see team members).
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students interested in gaining applied research experience with children and families are encouraged to apply. See current projects for overview of the research happening in the lab. Students seeking higher degrees in social or medical sciences or looking for opportunities to build their resume with experience, presentations and publications are also encouraged to apply.
Students who can commit to 2 years in the lab, have a GPA of at least 3.5, and are highly interested in research will be prioritized. Every application, however, will be fully considered. Students may participate in data collection and analysis, community outreach activities, and writing projects. For students seeking honors thesis or capstone project opportunities, please plan to be in the lab for at least one semester prior to starting these projects. Dr. Weiler is dedicated to supporting you in meeting your educational and career goals.
If interested, please complete this interest form. Dr. Weiler or a member of her team will follow-up with you shortly.
