Graduate and Post-Doctoral Students

We are currently writing a paper that will propose a conceptual framework for expanding our understanding of structural determinants of health and health inequities. Going forward, the focus of this research group will be on upstream factors affecting children’s well-being.

We are not planning to conduct any additional studies on the impact of early adversities on negative outcomes or on secondary/tertiary prevention strategies aimed at alleviating the impact of adversities.

If you are interested in joining this research group, please e-mail Canan Karatekin, Ph.D. (karat004@umn.edu). To learn more about what to expect as a graduate student in the Child Wellbeing Research Group, please read this document outlining what you can expect from Dr. Karatekin as an advisor/mentor and what she expects from graduate students. Read Dr. Karatekin’s advising expectations.

If you have general questions about the Ph.D. program in Child Development, please see the department’s web page, and contact Lindsey Jendraszak, Associate Director, Curriculum and Student Services (ljendras@umn.edu).
