Prosperity Now
Prosperity Now is a national organization that promotes economic opportunity and financial well-being.
Scorecard: Provides data for several indicators of financial well-being, housing/homeownership, and healthcare. The Scorecard includes income poverty (the classic use of the Federal Poverty Level measure), liquid asset poverty (liquid meaning easily and quickly accessed so savings would be included), and asset poverty (which would include homeownership and other assets like IRAs and other investments that have value but take time to liquidate and are more difficult to use for short-term emergencies). Access to credit and debt are also included. They also look at some macro-factors such as income inequality and the percentage of unbanked households.
You can look at state-level data or you can drill down to very local places (such as small rural towns like Dodge Center, MN population ~2,700). Data range from 2016-2018 and demonstrate the comprehensiveness of what they take into consideration when evaluating a family’s financial well-being, as food for thought for our model.

Visualizing Vulnerability is an interactive data visualization resource that provides information on vulnerable populations in the US, such as missed rent payments, evictions, and foreclosures. The drop-down menu can be used to look at coping strategies such as borrowing, etc. Data can be viewed by demographic characteristics.

Minnesota Department of Human Services provides data on outcomes of children served by the child welfare system in Minnesota.
Minnesota Department of Human Services compares human services programs by county across the state of Minnesota, including children’s and adult mental health, housing and homelessness, etc.
