Current Projects

To address the multifaceted needs and goals of immigrant and refugee families while engaging their unique family and cultural strengths, we must develop interdisciplinary teams of family scholars focused on:

a) contributing to the knowledge base about immigrant and refugee communities,

b) developing/adapting culturally and contextually relevant family theories, research methodologies, clinical and psychoeducational interventions that fit immigrant and refugee family needs

c) training culturally competent practitioners to work in this growing field in non-profit and government sectors.
