Baby Teeth Survey of International Adoptees

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is babyteeth.jpg

Many parents of internationally adopted children wonder what happened to their children before they entered their family.

Baby teeth can provide clues! Baby teeth start forming in the womb. During tooth development, the dentine and enamel that make up our teeth are deposited into rings, much like the rings of a tree. These growth rings incorporate compounds like metals, minerals, and stress hormones as they develop.

Many parents save some of their children’s baby teeth. Did you? If so, might you be willing to give one or more to us for analysis? This is an anonymous interest survey for us to determine if a study of the baby teeth of internationally adopted children is feasible. We will not be tracking any identifying information.
