The signature program is funded by the Office of International Initiatives and Relations at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) and aims to contribute to the important work on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by taking a “glocal” approach (locally based with global components). Specifically, we will spearhead a global initiative to:

  • Identify beliefs and misinformation about ASD risk factors and treatments in several countries
  • Use this information to inform instructional approaches/content of relevant courses in our department, and ultimately
  • Develop a CEHD study abroad course that focuses on understanding ASD with an emphasis on debunking pervasive misinformation
